Legislative Events

The MBA holds legislative events where members can connect with their federal and state legislators. Changes at the national and state levels have a tremendous impact on our customers, small businesses, communities, and employees. MBA’s events are important opportunities to talk with policymakers and help them understand the effect of legislation on the Maryland banking industry.

Day in Annapolis

MBA’s Day in Annapolis program is a part of MBA’s ongoing efforts to involve bankers in the legislative process. This event provides financial institution executives, officers and employees with a unique opportunity to see the Maryland General Assembly in action and act upon legislation that affects our industry.

MBA/VBA Washington Summit

At the VBA/ABA Washington Summit, you’ll have your finger on the pulse of policymakers on Capitol Hill, at the regulatory agencies, and in the White House. Your participation can have a direct impact on public policy discussions that affect our industry, customers and communities.

ICBA Capital Summit

The ICBA Capital Summit empowers you to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill, ensuring policymakers understand the vital role of community banks in driving growth and opportunity.

Washington Visit

To help federal lawmakers and regulators understand the effect of legislation on the financial industry in Maryland, the MBA holds its annual Washington Visit in Washington, D.C., where bankers across the state share their views and concerns with key policymakers in the federal government.

Please contact the MBA’s Head of Government & Community Relations, Evan Richards (443-983-1331) with any questions on legislative events.
