Understanding Bank Performance (Washington Bankers Assoc.)

Offered quarterly, this six-session training guides participants on how to assess and analyze a bank’s financial performance by working with data from real institutions. The early sessions focus on understanding and analyzing financial statements, credit metrics and funding/liquidity. After gaining a base knowledge, the later sessions address ways in which performance may be hindered or improved by funding strategies and risk management. In the final session of this course, participants will put what they have learned into practice, analyzing a new data set, rating the bank’s performance and suggesting adjustments that might benefit the bank. This training is ideal for any new or seasoned banker wishing to gain knowledge and understanding on the factors that impact a bank’s financial performance.
