Kathleen M. Murphy
Kathleen Murphy joined the Maryland Bankers Association in 1999 as President, Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer of the state-wide trade association representing the Maryland banking industry. As the Association's chief staff officer, she is responsible for carrying out the advocacy, communications, professional development, consumer education and services missions of the Association, which exists to improve the competitive position of its members in an evolving financial services marketplace.
Kathleen's career has spanned state and national banking trade associations, having served for 13 years as Director of Community Banking for the American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C. Prior to the ABA, Kathleen served as Director of Communications for the Ohio Bankers Association and in the Financial Card Services Division of BankOne, both located in Columbus, Ohio.
She received a bachelor of arts degree from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, and has completed Executive Education Programs from the Darden Business School of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Kathleen is a graduate of the Leadership Maryland class of 2001.
