Making Maryland banks stronger and more successful.
Since it was founded in 1896, the Maryland Bankers Association (MBA) has served the State's financial services industry. As the only Maryland-based trade group representing commercial banks and thrifts, the MBA works to maintain the competitiveness of the banking industry by making Maryland banks stronger and more successful.

Our members include banks, savings and loans, and other businesses that have an interest in the Maryland banking industry. Members of the MBA are not individuals; rather, they are the financial institutions and companies themselves. All officers and employees of member institutions may participate in MBA activities and programs, giving these firms opportunities for employee development and interaction with State and national decision-makers.
Through its primary mission areas of Advocacy, Communications, Education, Consumer Education and Products and Services, the MBA continues to provide leadership and service to its members in this changing industry.
MBA's standing councils and committees are:
- Government Relations Council
- Maryland Bank PAC Committee
- Communications Council
- Regulatory Affairs Committee
- Education Council
- Security Committee
- Consumer Education Council
- Trust Committee
- Leadership Development Committee
